Karmo Kaares became a new member of the management board of Baltic Mobility OÜ, the franchise owner of Europcar. He will also head the operational lease division of Europcar in the Baltics.
Karmo Kaares helped to establish Balti Autoliising, and for the past 14 years he has been the head of ALD Automotive in the Baltic states.
According to Argo Rebane, the second member of the management board of Baltic Mobility, Kaares is one of the most experienced specialists on the market. “We are very pleased that he has joined our team. The rental and leasing business is undergoing massive changes that only well-capitalized companies with diverse client portfolios can survive. We have a well-known franchise partner and a strong owner – Hansa Grupp. Increasing the number of executive managers is consistent with such a model,” Rebane said.
“I am pleased to join Baltic Mobility, since my views on the development of operational leasing and on growth ambitions coincide with those of the company. The entire concept of mobility is currently undergoing drastic changes, and in the Baltic countries we want to be at the forefront of such changes. Hansa Grupp is a good example of the symbiosis of the know-how of an international company and the flexibility of a local business,” said Karmo Kaares.
Europcar is one of the world’s largest car rental companies and the European market leader. Since 2013, the owner of the Europcar franchise in the Baltic states Baltic Mobility has been a part of Hansa Grupp.
According to the chairman of the council of Hansa Grupp Neeme Tammis, along with the bus company owned by the group, its rental business also has significant potential. “Despite the decline in absolute volumes, the current market situation is attractive. Baltic Mobility has always considered local customers to be very important, and now that tourism is going through difficult times, this strategy proved to be completely justified. The fact that such an experienced and knowledgeable manager as Karmo Kaares has become part of our team is great news for the whole team,” said Tammis.
